Has anyone tried to relocate their idle adjuster knob to somewhere more convenient. My adjuster is under the tank, directly on the throttle bodies which is a real pain to get at. Anybody have any ideas?
Hi Vanilla18, here's an idea. Find a diameter of plastic tubing such as neoprene or fuel line a bit smaller than the adjuster and force it on. May need to cinch it on tightly with a bit of safety wire to guarantee that it stays on tightly, but maybe not needed. This tubing should be long enough to route it to a spot where you want it for accessability. I can imagine that if the tubing ends up being too long and/or the idle adjuster is stiff to turn then the tubing may kink when you try to turn it. If so, slip a length of narrow spring or even a smaller diameter flex tubing inside it to stiffen the arrangement. Could top the end of the whole thing by screwing & gluing a large hex head machine screw into the end of the tube to serve as the new adjuster knob. An alternate tube material might be a small PVC tubing.
