Motion to accept was made by Allan Hay and seconded by Rob Schoemeyer. Treasurer Report: Brett Hanson advised our current bank balance as of April 6th was $127,885.65 with outstanding bills for BC Ambulance deposit, race school cones, Med tags, Corner Marshal supplies, hay bale plastic, hay bales, Tech stickers, and insurance. Debits this month included a membership refund, nozzles for fire extinguishers and the storage locker for an estimated balance of $108,500.64 Promotions: Brain reported on plans to visit some Mission businesses that might be interested in displaying our poster. Brian requested that members post their photos on Instagram and tag the WMRC, and/or post photos with links to our website and Instagram accounts. Please use your own photos and not photos you have purchased from a professional photographer. There are further plans in motion to come up with some trophies for certain rounds, more on that to follow. New Business: Thank you to Kevin Bose for sourcing, and delivering our hay bales to the track this year! Eliminating the step of having to pick up a rental truck saved us so much time that the truck was unloaded, and bales were bagged and on our trailers within an hour! We are planning 60th Anniversary celebrations for this season, and will be announcing some special events to take place on the same day as our annual Track Walk with Bernie and the Star Light Foundation. Thank you again to Shawn Watson and BC Supermoto for the donation of their cones. These have been stored in our newly acquired storage unit and will be utilized in our race school sessions at Pitt Meadows Thanks to John Cathie for sourcing a number of cold fire extinguishers for our use, we will be able to have one or two in each corner, and 2 on the crash truck. John was able to find 30 more of these extinguishers and we will be refurbishing them and selling them to the other race clubs at our cost. We will be implementing a yellow light bar on the wall in turn 6 for an additional safety warning in that section of the track. This will not replace the marshal in that section, but provide a bit more security in the event of a yellow flag situation. If you have not yet purchased your race license, this is your reminder to do so. You can make your payment through MSR BUT Pam still requires your license application as well. Numbers are up for grabs as of March 31, so be sure to submit your license renewal as soon as possible if you intend to keep your race number. MSR is also now open for race registration, race school registration, and the racer only track day. We also have a few available spots in the first race school, but you need to register quickly for that. New to the rule book this year is a code of conduct as well as the mandatory shark fin requirement. This is your reminder to review the rule book for any other changes and updates. We would also remind you to check your helmets! “New” off the shelf does not automatically mean you will pass tech! Your helmet needs to be ECE2205 within 5 years, or Snell 2015 within 5 years. Check inside your helmet to be sure this will pass tech, both for track days as well as race days. Also, you must have a medical data carrier tag affixed to the left side of your helmet, placed between the ear and chin. If you are in need of race numbers for your bike, we would like to endorse Paul at Graphics Unlimited in Maple Ridge. He has been helping us with our tech stickers and assorted other graphics the past few years and does a great job. We would like to thank him for his support by recommending him to our members for their race numbers. If you need to rent a transponder for our upcoming rounds, please note that the cost is $30, cash only, and that they will be made available at registration by the SCCBC. There are a limited number available, and are first come, first served, so be quick to registration to avoid disappointment! International Motorsports has generously offered a $20 tire swap for WMRC members. Tires and wheels must be off the bike, and the offer is for a $20 swap on race tires only. Many thanks to International Motorsports for the considerable deal. Please note there will be no Meeting in May, as our next meeting date falls directly after a race weekend. Our next general meeting will be on June 10th, at Chances Casino in Maple Ridge. Jason Hanson expressed deep disappointment at having not been able to beat the previous meeting record of 18 minutes, set by Jeremy “Hot” Karlson in March, and motioned that the meeting be adjourned at 7:46. Seconded by Cam Tardi Minutes submitted by Pam Black.
