I've got a 2004 SV650 that I will be racing next year. It's an ICBC salvage so it needs some bits and pieces, one of which is a new exhaust can. There's a hindle on the bike now but it has about 4 90degree bends in it and it's about 1/2 an inch thick. I'm assuming the mid pipe and head is all stock, but there is a fairly ugly weld right where the can attaches so that might have been fiddled with. I'd like to get the bike ready for the track before I get too involved in "improving" things, so what's my best bet for a stock can or similar that I'll pass noise with and won't adversely affect throttle response or power? Stock can? Stock can off of another bike? Suggestions welcome. I'll be using the stock ECU, so I can't get new mapping if I get an exhaust with much better flow.
Ebay - stock exhaust, cheap. Or, you can see if Dean Drolet still has the stock system w/GSXR 1000 can.
