Had a couple racers (who shall remain nameless) come to me on the weekend because they weren't getting scored. Racer #1 had bought a rechargeable X2 transponder AND a Direct Power connection kit. Had all of it mounted nicely on the bike (including the RaceKey). It didn't work. You can't mix and match Rechargeable with Direct Power. You HAVE to ensure your subscription is active AND there are no firmware upgrades pending for your transponder BEFORE you come to the track. Racer #2 had a rechargeable X2 transponder and thought the RaceKey needed to be scotch taped to the transponder while it was on the bike. It didn't work. For the life of me I don't know how he managed to fit the transponder (with the RaceKey) into the transponder holder. Anyway, I took the RaceKey off and sent him on his way. You HAVE to ensure your subscription is active AND there are no firmware upgrades pending for your transponder BEFORE you come to the track. Make sure it is fully charged if it is a Rechargeable. The moral of this story is you need to be very, very careful to follow the instructions exactly or you aren't going to be a happy camper. Frankly, the instructions could be a little clearer but they need to be followed precisely.
