Hi All- I am wondering if the extra expense of replacing a rear shock, over just re-valving and re-shimming it, is worth it? I am speaking of the Racetec parts with the rebound separator valve compared to a used Penske or Elka (or Ohlins, I guess). I guess I would be comparing 2 way shocks. I put the Racetec kit in a shock last year, and was very happy with the results on the street (was a KYB shock). From that experience, it seemed like the important bit was the valve and shim assembly. So if the Racetec valve is good, why spend the extra dough? I am not looking for bling hydraulic ride height adjusters or anything. Thanks for any replies...
I had a my stock shock revalved and resprung at GP suspension and it is awesome, you don't have quite the quick adjustability as a 4 way but once you have it set you don't really adjust it anyway.
GP Suspension FTMFW, lol. Barry is awesome at his job and can also setup your bike so it works properly. Dave isn't bad either,
