WMRC General Meeting Minutes, March 2020 Attending: Members: 3 Non Members: 2 In addition to: Nick Dudziak – President Rob Schoemeyer – Vice President Brett Hanson - Treasurer Sean Durrell – Promotions Regrets: Pam Black – Secretary, stalwart attendee and most excellent minute taker, was dearly missed. The Meeting was called to order at 7:06PM by Nick Dudziak. Minutes from the February General Meeting were read by Brett Hanson. Motion to accept the previous minutes were made by Nick Dudziak and seconded by Allan Hay. Treasurers Report: Brett Hanson reported our current bank balance as $97,585.25 plus our $50,000.04 GIC for a total of $147,585.29. Invoices paid for February were the Mission track rental deposit, bike show business cards, License card printer and clothing. Pending bills are for hay bales, license card printing supplies and the Ambulance deposit. Promotions Report: Sean Durrell reported that a track day incentive proposal is being developed. Details to be announced soon. Sponsors are being finalized and should be done by March 13th. 8 sponsors on board thus far. 2020 posters will be ready for review this week. Sean Durrell proposed we make up banners for the sponsors to display. Discussion ensued. Re-usable banners were proposed. Nick Dudziak stated his support for the bannder. Sean Durrell getting costs. Highroad is hosting two track day seminars. These seminars will cover topics such as introduction to track days and will contain WMRC promotional material. Rob Schoemeyer announced more such events will be forthcoming. Jay Shapka proposed we collect email addresses from attendees who are willing to be contacted by us. New Business: Jay Shapka asked if our sponsors can be announced in our Rider’s Meetings? Discussion ensued about meeting content. It was mentioned that WMRRA makes mention of, congratulations given to newly graduated riders. Perhaps we can add something similar could be done. Nick Dudziak reiterated that safety content must be prioritized and cannot be neglected, but perhaps efficiencies can found. Meetings should be scripted and all effort made to be kept on script. All riders are reminded the Rider’s Meeting is mandatory. All participants must attend in order to participate. Nick Dudziak announced that random roll calls will be done this year. Jay Shapka offered to create to brief, introductory and informational media content with ideas similar to “My First Track Day” and “What to Expect When you are Getting Inspected” and such for hosting on youtube. Allan Hay announced registration for WMRC 2020 race, practice and New Racer School events are now open. Registration is done via MotorsportsReg. Track day registration will continue with Eventzilla. 2020 Licenses are being printed and will be available for pickup at our General meetings. Memberships can be renewed at MotosportsReg. All racers and attendees of our events are reminded to check your helmets to ensure they meet our requirements. Air fence is out for repair. Rob Schoemeyer announced the much anticipated Annual Hay Bale party will be taking place at Mission Raceway on April 5th at 11AM. A suggestion was made that Promotions try and arrange sponsorship of the event, for example a pancake breakfast. Nick Dudziak motioned the meeting be adjourned at 8:01PM with Sean Durrell seconding the motion. Next general meeting scheduled for April 13th at Maple Ridge Chances Casino at 7PM.
