here are a few rule changes i am proposing for the coming season.. please let me know your thoughts. · Front brake lever guard · BAN K&N oil filters racing and trackdays · Limit middleweight superbike to year of 2003 · Fire ext…requirements recommend 3a 40bc (best on the market) · Fire bottle 1 extinguisher per racer in the pits (one per person) · Minimum 4 or more racers/riders to score points in any class · School race license test · 600ss to allow 636 · Remove FC riders rep · New MDC for helmets (medial data carrier (instead of paper in the leathers) · Transponder functionality is the responsibility of the rider. if it fails to ping, you don’t get a finish unless: 1) the person in front of you AND behind you can verify your position - all 3 must be present at the time of the protest, OR 2) it can be verified by a worker(Exec or volunteer) in the tower. Protests MUST be made within 30 minutes of the posted results at the tech shack. · “fast Guy” rule 3rd or 4th row middle..if returning for multiple races or following season, gridded as per points · Number plated minimum 3” around the number of corresponding plate color (The background must extend at least 3” past the edge of the Number) · New helmet requirements (snell 2015 or ece 5yr from production date · Axles and/or axle nuts, except in the case of axle sliders that prevent the safety-wiring of axles/axle nuts. thanks for your input
Exception being if you are protesting for 1st place, riders in 2nd and 3rd must verify. And I guess if you want to protest to be in last place you don't need anyone behind you...
I was joking about the last place one, but I actually came up with a scenario where it could be needed. For example if there's a 4 bike grid, and we DNF the last bike, but they actually completed >50% of the race. It'd still be worth protesting their finishing position to get the 4th place points.
I would limit the 600s in MWSBK to MY2002. This would keep the performance envelope relatively close. With the exception of Suzuki, 2003 saw the introduction of all new bikes from the big 4 that were a massive leap forward in performance. The fuel injected Yamaha R6, fuel injected 636 ZX6R (good luck finding a ZX6RR) and the CBR600RR. Prior to 2003, the R6 was essentially unchanged for 4 years. Same with the ZX6R (98 - 02) and F4i. My concern would be that the performance envelope for the "old" 600s will be that much higher than the SV superbikes.
Yep · Let's specify ANY protest has 30 minutes from the time the results are printed/posted. No more me and Joseph lounging around for an hour after a race day to wait for protests. With online results available almost instantly, a 1 hour wait for a protest is interminable.
Maybe 30 minutes from the time results are posted? Would just need to note the time when results are taped up.
There's a date/timestamp on the printout. That's one criterion. The other is we usually post the results on MyLaps as the next group is heading out. Cam's pretty on top of all that. Ain't the Interweb grand? If we really wanted to get finicky we could look at the time of day the last rider took the checkered flag and go for 30 minutes after that.
I agree with this. Also, I think that novices on a 600 inline that is newer than 1995 should be in open-novice and not MWSBK.
Agree with Andrew, 1995+ 600cc bikes should be Novice Class only. Also F1:18 is supposed to be Expert only (some GN can race, see rule book) so we should look at that class to have racers correctly sorted.
As far as I know 250s have not had any oiling problems with KN filters. They are internal, so would be difficult to monitor. Maybe just excluded KN canister exterior mounting type?
