MINUTES WMRC General Meeting September 9, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. Ricky’s Restaurant, Langley, BC IN ATTENDANCE: Scott Borthwick, President Dean Drolet, Past President Jayson Lynch, Treasurer Bez Cajee, Promotions (via teleconference) 2 members CALL TO ORDER President Scott Borthwick called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m. 2. MINUTES The Minutes of July 8, 2013 were read and reviewed at the meeting. 3. FINANCIAL REPORT – Jayson Lynch The WMRC currently has $29,430 (net) in its bank account with no outstanding invoices. Bez Cajee will send all outstanding invoices to Jayson Lynch and he will send all invoices to appropriate sponsors. 4. PROMOTIONS REPORT – Bez Cajee The Honda Centre is hosting a customer barbecue on Saturday, September 14[SUP]th[/SUP] and the Promotions team will be in attendance promoting the WMRC at the event. Bez Cajee has the keys for the WMRC crash car. Bez Cajee will contact Mary Beth Harrison to coordinate the year-end trophies. The September race program will include a memorial to John Ross MacRae, who passed away in a qualifying race in Quebec on August 25, 2013. 5. OLD BUSINESS a. Crash truck – has been removed from the track. NEW BUSINESS a. AMB Timing System – has been purchased from Stratotech Park at a significantly reduced price. Dean Drolet will pick the system up at EMRA Rounds on September 15, 2013 and the WMRC Executive will be doing a test run of the system in conjunction with running DB Com for the final Round on September 28[SUP]th[/SUP] and September 29[SUP]th[/SUP] to ensure that everything is working properly for next year. All racers should start to secure their own transponder for the 2014 race season. b. Hay Bales – on September 29[SUP]th[/SUP] the hay bales will be placed in a (rented) dumpster to be picked up and disposed of. TRACK TEAR-DOWN on September 29[SUP]th[/SUP] is VERY IMPORTANT and MANY VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED. c. Air Fence – will be cleaned during track tear-down on September 29[SUP]th[/SUP]. 7. NEXT MEETING(S) a. October 7, 2013 (change due to Thanksgiving on October 14[SUP]th[/SUP]) --- General Meeting b. November 4, 2013 (change due to Remembrance Day on November 11[SUP]th[/SUP]) --- AGM 8. ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned at 8:14 p.m.
Yes, EMRA is still going to use their own Zoomius System (Now Tag Heuer), at their new home next year. Castrol Raceway. It will be interesting to see how that holds up. CMRA at Calgary could not get the zoomius system working well due to how wide their track was. Strat was not very wide, so Zoomius would work well there. Only time will tell. We are excited to be on a new system like WMRRA and OMRRA.
