will this run concurrently with 250 production? is anyone actually gonna do this? i'm more of a red guy than a green guy, but if there were a few cbr250's on the grid as well as a few ninja's it might be fun racing...

cbr250's will run in 250 production. I don't see why the wmrc would run more than one 250 class. Maybe if we get over 20 bikes on the grid...we could have a production & mod class.

For right now, the "ninja cup" is now the 250 production class. That encompasses Kawasaki Ninja 250R, Honda CBR 250, and any other street production 250 series 4-stroke motorcycle. Yamaha wr250x will be allowed if they can pass sound as well. It does leave room for someone to find some of the older 250 motorcycles as well, such as the ZZR250s, VTR250s, etc. You could even race a new Hyosung GT250R as well.

We'd love 20 bikes on the grid!

There is no breaking up of the 250 production class though. This is the new 250 race series. If individual manufacturers wish to run additional prizes for things like first ninja across the line, they can, but results will show a combined grid and finishing positions. First qualifying bike across the line in 250 production takes 1st place, etc.

All the press release shows is that Honda Canada is putting some money into seeing racers enter this series.

I was also confused by the press release as it stated "proud to announce Honda Canada’s Sponsorship of the first year of the 250 Cup Series". Why wouldn't they just race in the 250 Production?

Sorry, I didn't word the press release. It's the 250 production series.

So it's actually the second year of 250 production and the first year that Honda will be involved.
