Hey, how were the races today? Wish I could have joined you all (hope to be there for next one). Hope everyone had a fun, safe day.
supersunny, hot... one guy medivac'd out after getting run over after a T4 lowside, early reports are he'll be ok... got all the races in in spite of the big delay for the chopper to come in... stunt show and taste of racing at lunch... lots of greasy pit food enjoyed... your buddy Steve O'Toole was on fire and won everything he was in i think... i was captain slow as usual but fulfilled my prime objectives (don't crash/don't come last)... sort of an average turn out in numbers (not like when i started racing and if you weren't in the line up for the gate early you'd have trouble finding a pit even along the very back!)... production 250, essentially the ninja 250 class, premiered with 5 bikes which was a good start, considering the last budget racing class that was tried was honda cbr125's and we didn't even get one... probably more to report, but that's all i can think of!
Thanks a lot for taking the time to give me a summary, Hugh. I'll have to e-mail Steve over here to congratulate him -- that's awesome! I'm relieved that the injured racer (I saw the photos -- yikes!) is going to be okay, from what I heard. Looks like he took a really hard tumble and hit. Glad you had a good race day, too, and hope to be see you there myself for Rounds 2/3 in a few weeks.
It was a fantastic start to the season. May races can sometimes be stressfull with changing weather but I am sporting a sun burn on my face. A big thanks to all the volunteers and race day officials! A deep bow for the medical staff...thanks for keeping us safe.
It was an awesome day except for the crash. Michelin finished 1 and 2 in middle weight and superbike twins, IE Bezz and I, hehehehe.
