Rule 8.6: no race fuel in production class.

Rule 8.23: race fuel and additives allowed.

Huh??? Supersport is a production class, is it not?

Production is a supersport class, but a supersport class is not necessarily a production class.

Even if race fuel was allowed, I can't see it helping a 28hp 250cc to power away from the field. If people are that desperate and want to waste their money, let them.

As Ryan mentioned, Supersport(be it 600 or Open) classes are NOT prohibited from running race fuel. Yes, the bikes are "production" derived motorcycles, but with a wide range of modifications allowed, including engine work.
250 cup on the other hand IS a "production" class in which such wideranging modifications are expressly forbidden, including race fuel.

P.S. There's not much "production" about the 150 hp 600s running in World Supersport...
