    Hi all-

I am looking at a bike that has a frame with no VIN. It comes with a bill of sale from a race team, and then to the current owner, and that is it. It is a complete 2007 motorcycle, if that is not clear.

Does anyone know if this can be imported?

    -Thx.

Yes, you just have to pay the tax on it. It can never be registered, so there is no real "importation" going on. You are just going to pay HST on a large purchase. At that time, you can also register a green card for the bike so you don't get hassled on your way back from the US again if you go down south to ride. Even an engine serial number can be used for that.

If you want to ride it on the street, you'd have to take it to an inspection facility and get a new VIN for it. There are some rules regarding what bikes you can register so some can, some can't.
