Okay so I realize their are a million places to get medical insurance for trips to the US. Bcaa, Kanetix, etc. My question is do these normal plans cover for action sports? IE tracksdays, race school? Thanks, Cory
normally no, but BCAA has a very reasonably priced "Speed Competition" package that will cover you while racing in the US provided that racing is not your primary source of income.
I have 2 options on mine. Participation in a speed contest and professional sports. The first for the track, and the second in case you win money doing it.
Hey thanks for the help. I went with BCAA. Basic is 15$ and competition coverage was another 15$. Total was $30.16 for one day.
make damn sure you have participation in a speed contest! that's the main one. Also, you may want to look at helicopter lift insurance. Many racers in Seattle and south carry it. I think it's about 40 bucks a year.
BCAA Tripguard plan 2, unless things have changed. I used to get it every race weekend and they covered anything, including racing for money. I now have different insurance so I haven't needed to buy it for a few years.
it covers you for treatment in our hospitals and clinics, but it does not cover you for getting there (ambulance, airlift, etc)
