new petcock, new clutch plates, redid the wiring harness, made custom battery tray and relocated battery, made a crankcase catch can, relocated fuel pump, new fuel lines, cleaned carbs and replaced all the o-rings and float seat, replaced phillips head screw carb clamps with socket cap screws to ease removal and instalation of carbs, new inline fuel filter, repacked muffler, modified airbox for better carb clearance, hard wired dbcom transponder, installed steering damper. that's all for now, still need to repaint my wheels, new rear wheel bearings and get spacers measured and cut for my rain rear. Other than that, good to go.
Sounds like my list, great way to pass a boring winter. But don't you have little kids running around the house, how do you get so much time in the garage.
Mine is still young enough for nap time. I forgot to add as well, new plug wires and sparkplug boots. Just waiting for them to arrive.
put mine away last fall with a bit of fuel stab in it. took the battery out, forgot about it untill 3 days before the first race. is that bad?
After all the little gremlins I've had with mine, I just wanted to make it a little easier to work on, easier to trace problems and do a bit of preventative maintenance. I figure for the $15 it cost me for new plug wires, I may as well since they are going on 14 years old. Clutch was burnt out, didn't have a really good catch can before, petcock was in need of a rebuild so I got a pingel manual petcock instead. The carbs have had race gas run through them, so I did a good winter cleaning and replaced all the old o-rings and the float seat. Not much $ in parts, just a bit of time. I also bought some extra jets so that I can make some adjustments rather than DNF like I did in edmonton when it ran so rich it fouled the plugs. I thought, this is the year I should be as prepared as possible and focused as possible to really get out and enjoy racing again. Going to ride rain or shine this year and try to get back to the pace I had in 2009.
This is what I've been up to. Hopefully I can get everything back together before April... but I just might need that sticker.

Little known fact: a friend of mine painted all the Ninja 250's for Dark Angel at his body shop when the series was filmed here. Attempts to be introduced to Jessica Alba were rebuffed completely.
