If there's any on weekends, I'll be all over it.

Motofit definitely has weekend dates at both The Ridge and ORP then a smattering of other track day groups.

    choices

At the risk of stating the obvious, it seems to me we have two very clear choices:

    (a) Race (mostly) during the week; or,
    (b) Not race at all.

No amount of discussion will significantly change these facts.

So the question is, "Are there enough folks who can/will race during the week to continue?"

A simple yes or no vote should suffice.

For the record, I vote yes.

I think you're right Jerry. Although talking things out at the meeting may help us find some other options.

Could we possibly negotiate a lower track rental fee for weekday races? That way we don't need to get as many members and there's less risk to the club. It's pretty low of them pull our dates like that.

I'll also be at every WMRC event that I can possibly get to, but weekday races are very difficult if there are too many of them.

Silver lining here is that we can possibly get more dates in July and August without rain?

I'll race any dates. Weekdays, weekends, stats, summer, winter, etc. The ferry traffic will actually be less on weekdays, so there's a bright side for me. ;)

I have great confidence that our executive has explored all other practical options, but the fact remains, WMRC has little power to force this issue.

Furthermore, as pressure on Mission continues to increase, I reckon the problem will simply get worse - and that's not being negative, that's being realistic.

I will be at every WMRC event that falls on a Monday, Friday or a weekend. Unfortunately there is just no way I can take a mid week day off to go racing....

Trust me guys, your exec is going crazy trying to find a solution to this issue, however, we have limited options and are trying to make the best decision possible for all involved...

Remember guys, WMRRA and OMRRA use the AMB transponders, they aren't cheap.

If I am not going, I can rent mine out, :p

So going to the WMRRA to race and leaving Mission for a year does that mean that the club doesn't exist for a year? No champions etc?
Is it possible to run a season similar to what happens with the WCC championship? 2 races at Mission and the rest of the season at WMRRA tracks. That would also get around the fact that most of our bikes aren't legal for points in WMRRA as they are Canadian models. We would be racing alongside the WMRRA racers but we would be counting points for our championship, not theirs. If you wanted to you could count for both if your bike was legal for both but that may be difficult.
Of course since our rules state that bikes registered for sale in either the US or Canada are legal then a lot of WMRRA racers could pay for a race license with the WMRC and race for two championships at once. That might make the WMRRA more open to having us down there.

Its entirely possible that if we don't race this year the WMRC will cease to exist and the car club, not that they haven't already, rescrew us for 2013, :(

After Westwood closed, the club stayed together, albeit as a more social organization rather than a full-fledged racing group. I think the club will stay together as the club has significant assets in air fence, supplies and $$ that needs to be taken care of. Or is that my wishful thinking?

I suspect that SCCBC made an easy decision to punt WMRC for NHRA. I suspect it all comes down to $$$ as an NHRA event pays better.

That is true, we did stay together but times are changing, alot of the older members are gone and most want to race, so without being a negative nelly, I don't think that would happen again, only a few core guys and gals would stick together. I sure hope I am wrong.

As for SCCBC, someone obviously didn't read the schedule and just threw out dates as it seems, as NHRA is worth millions, so yeah, we are an easy target to dump. I thought things were better between us, guess not, :(

My vote is to definately have a season. Personally, I'm in for any and all WMRC dates at Mission.

From the list the holiday Monday (Aug. 6) looks like a good choice and we could add a couple more Mondays like June 11 and July 9.
So the season would look like this:
    May 19 Practice
    May 20 Rd 1
    June 11 Rd 2
    June 22 Rd 3
    July 9 Rd 4
    Aug. 6 Rd 5
    Aug. 20 Rd 6
    Sept. 21 Rd 7

We CAN all figure this out together. I remember when we first cut laps at Mission with all the walls, the kink, etc. We've come a long way as a club and like it was stated eariler the WMRC still existed without a track for 10 years.

Hey Simon, I'll volunteer to help you in Tech.

I don't know how much this is worth but I just sent an e-mail to the BCCCA members who basically are my bosses for the NHRA stuff asking for some information. I'm sitting here vibrating over this but until the meeting or the information I requested for us comes back from BCCCA not much I can do.

I keep writing and editing but I'm so pissed I just deleted it all before I cause any trouble for our club or me personally.

    See you guys Wednesday.
