      <content:encoded><![CDATA[PCMRC is putting together a group purchase of transponders. Not sure why they&#039;re offering kart transponders, but be warned; if you try to use one of those new kart transponders in a bike race, the newer software will reject your lap times. The only solution will be to buy a car/bike transponder.<br />

This wasn&#039;t the case with the older transponders, but there were still issues with weak signal strength since kart transponders are only meant to be 6 inches off the ground and car/bike transponders...<br />

It can make a huge difference if we need to identify you on track for a transponder or safety issue. A lot of numbers are really, really hard to read; especially if you are at full speed. Besides, my eyesight is definitely NOT improving with age so I need all the help I can get.<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[Had a couple racers (who shall remain nameless) come to me on the weekend because they weren&#039;t getting scored.<br />

Racer #1 had bought a rechargeable X2 transponder AND a Direct Power connection kit. Had all of it mounted nicely on the bike (including the RaceKey). It didn&#039;t work.<br />
<ol>
<li>You can&#039;t mix and match Rechargeable with Direct Power.</li>
<li>You HAVE to ensure your subscription is active AND there are no firmware upgrades pending for your transponder BEFORE you come to the track....</li>

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[Just a note to everyone that the 2018 Rule Book clearly specifies you must use the older (red) TranX260 Car/Bike transponder. This should also include the X2 Car/Bike transponder. Don&#039;t know if the Rule Book will be updated or if we&#039;ll just use a Supplementary Regulation to include the X2 transponder until the Rule Book is updated for 2019.<br />

With the old timing system there was no real issue with using, maybe, a kart transponder (i.e. a yellow TranX160) or (*gasp*) an RC transponder.<br />

In the process of safety wiring my rc390 and have a question for anyone with an answer...<br />

Looks like the coolant cap for this bike can&#039;t be drilled due to its size/shape.  What have others done with this issue?<br />
Also, the oil drain plug containing the filter screen...that&#039;s also a bastard to drill as it is hollow.  Can you get away with siliconing that?<br />

Newbie here.  Did the racing school last summer &amp; one (very wet) track day in September and got myself hooked good and proper, so I went out and bought a track bike from the states around October.<br />

So I am clear the club rules state by 2017 everyone will be required to wear a Snell 2015 certified helmet no older than five years old. Is this correct? So for this year the rule is Snell 2010 or ECE plus no older than five years. <br />

I&#039;m thinking of going with the budget option of risers instead of woodcraft rear sets for my bike. The adapter plates I&#039;m looking at don&#039;t come with a rear brake reservoir bracket to accommodate for the change in positioning. Would I be able to pass a tech inspection on a race day with the reservoir zap strapped like shown in the picture above?<br />
