How to get started

IMG_5138-MLets go racing!

Buy a bike and prepare it (if necessary) according the rule book. Please refer to the general information in the rule book starting on page 7 and also continue your reading to ensure that your bike meets the specific rules for the classes you intend to race it in. This information is contained within chapters 8-11.

Buy your gear. Your leathers, boots, hard shell back protector and gloves must all be in good condition. Please see page 16 of the rule book for more details.

Note: Helmets must be of Snell 2010 or ECE.22-05 certification.

Take a race school. You must have taken WMRC accredited race school in the past 24 months to qualify you to buy a race license.

We recommend our very own WMRC New Racer School

Buy a transponder. In order to be timed during your races you’ll need to have an AMB 260x transponder. We recommend buying them from one of our vendors.

Join the club. Buy your membership/race license. (In 2016 graduated students of the WMRC New Racer School will be able to apply for their race license for no extra charge!)

Applications can be mailed in, bought at any WMRC General Meeting or bought on race day. Online licensing will be available soon.

Here is an example of the 2015 membership application.

We always need corner workers and you will see what the club is like, meet people and watch the action from the best seat in the house.

Try a Taste of Racing.

Held at lunch time on dry race days for a small charge we will lead you around the track on your street bike and give you just a taste of what racing with us could be like.

We hope to see you out!
