WORK PARTY ANNOUNCMENT We are planning to have our second official work party of 2012. Date: Sunday 4th Mar 2012 Time: 8 am Where: at the track We would appreciate any one who can come out and pitch in with some of our projects. Of course you will be given track credits for your efforts (if with the SCCBC), a free lunch, and lots of thanks. **I would ask that you email myself if you think you will be coming out. This will help us to plan the projects and lunch etc . If you want to bring any tools or equipment out such as rakes, shovels, power tools, etc, that would be helpful. We have some, but probably not enough for every one. Some things that we plan to work on are: Placing patio pavers at the outside edge of T9 and T1. We may also be spreading topsoil and seeding grass in T9 if it is dry enough too. Al Cruickshank will be supervising this area and will need 2- 3 people for that. We will be building/repairing tire bundles. Tim and Paul will be there. We may be constructing another turn worker station or two. Al Harvey is our expert from last year, and he will need a couple of helpers for sure. There is still some carpentry and finish work to be done in Timing and Scoring. We would like to string some new wire for the PA. Al/Norm to oversee this. And of course there is always the every growing Blackberry bushes etc. So come out, have some fun with your fellow club members, break a sweat, and enjoy a free lunch and some race credits for your efforts. Come anytime you like. You do not need to stay all day, or come at 8 am. If you can only spare 4 hours or even 2, it all helps. Thanks, Tim Rosche trackops@sccbc.net
paving stones - how much area we talking about. Do you have the pavers on site, what size are they. I am a landscape contractor and if may have the assistance to do this a little easier them most
Andrew and I were digging by hand thinking there had to be a better way... We're talking 1 row, I think they were 18" by 24", and they probably have to do 50 feet. We used up all they had on site while we were there. If you email Tim, I'm sure he could get you in touch with Al to give you a better idea.
i'll be there march 4th....if someone could send me some more details re the carpentry/finishing work in the timing booth i'll bring the appropriate tools. maybe just some crown molding and wainscotting to spruce things up a bit? see you then
What kind of carpentry/finishing are we talking about here!?....I can bring appropriate tools if I know!....(compressor, hose, pinner, chop saw, table saw....????)
Good to see we will have some skilled people out. I will not be able to attend but hope I can make it out to future work parties.
I didn't get a chance to send a message to Tim on this, but from what I understand it's moving a wall or two in the scoring building...I know there was some progress on it last week, but as far as what to expect, I'm not sure. One thing I noticed lacking last time was drills with largish hole saws for doing the tires. Somewhere around a 2" hole saw I think, and lots of extension cords. An e-mail to trackops@sccbc.net will probably yield answers that aren't just pulled out of my arse.
Sorry guys I wasn't able to make it. Still trying to feel "normal" after being sick for a while. I hope everyone who showed up had a good day.
Sorry Guys and Gals!.... Got hit with a bad flu bug late Saturday and couldn't make it out today!....Even had to send my son back w/ his Mom this morning!....Shivers and shakes, sniffles and swollen throat sucks bigtime!....:behead Anything that didn't get done Sunday I might be able to help out with next weekend, if it's still required!?
