Not sure if I heard correctly but did the new execs vote that aftermarket mufflers will be allowed on all bikes?

If that is indeed so, I will expect the club to

A)Loose a ton of money due to racers being black flagged and told to either fix it or leave the track, so they'll want their money back.

B)Removed from the track and told never to come back due to this.

I hope I heard incorrectly and pray the new powers at be aren't that dumb. :(

I see the rules still say 88 db but nothing about stock mufflers?

Wow, this will be an ugly year.

... but if you meet the 88 DB limit does it really matter how you do it?

Problem is, most aftermarket systems are over 88 AND its the 600's wail that is the biggest issue. We've covered this and beat it to death, to allow aftermarket systems and let the racer be the guinea pig is a really bad idea and will backfire badly. :(

I imagine Marbod and Blair will carry a bigger selection of diffuser plugs to bring noise levels down a few dB's. If the club really emphasizes to new and visiting racers that they should bring a stock muffler as a last resort, it could save some people from having to leave without racing. Maybe.

I think the "600 wail" argument is just a red herring. It just brings 600's exhaust rules in line with every other class we have.

Btw, here 's a quote from Simon on this forum( ForumRacingRacing at Mission88 db limit. Live within it)from 2007 regarding the 88db :
" I have mine setup so I can replace JUST my can in 2 min's depending on where I race. " So as long as you are prepared, sure doesn't seem like such a hardship after all...

Yeah right, and is this going to be in BOLD letters on every form etc when a racer signs up? And racers tend to go, nah, won't happen to me. What about people who come with headers and have nothing else? This is just going to be a friggin mess, not sure why I should even care, apparantly no one else does.

That wail is there, 600's can and mostly sound like crap at higher revs. Of course you don't care, your going to make a boat load of money off this.

As for me, I have the tools etc to make that happen, most don't and won't.

"a boatload of money" . That explains the lineup of vendors fighting to get a slice of that giant money pie that's being generated. Please get your head out of your ass and come up with empirical evidence to support your claims and not your blanket statements.

It was a joke dumbass, get that "muffler plug" out of your ass and lol.

In case you missed it, racers will be lining up to get plugs, so you'll be rich.

    stock cans

Yeah, I can see what you mean with the I4's.

I guess I have been fortunate - I just put the db killers in the Akras and have had no problems.

    Have a fun year guys.

Whatever Whittle, this club has turned from fun to a joke. What a shame to piss of the remaining racers and piss off the powers at be for nothing. How many riders do you think this will bring to our club?

Wish I could be there tomorrow night but have other plans.
